Starting from 1992, he started to concentrate on traditional kungfu systems. He tried many styles including the tiger crane set he learned from Lee Wai Siong who worked as a cook in a Chinese restaurant in Gernmany. Then he discovered the Hung Kuen of the Lau family to be the ONE style he was looking for. Since then he became a baisee disciple of Sifu Mark Houghton who is an Englishman that resides in Hongkong. Back in Germany, he taught a group of students.
In 2005, he came to the Philippines. while there, he was introduced to Sifu George Ramos of the Hung Fut school in Malate, to augment his knowledge in physical conditioning. He trained in Hung Fut school for 4 months. Later, Frank went back to Hongkong to continue his studies under Ho Sifu.
In 2006, he relocated to Manila where he met Sifu Arnold Buenviaje who teaches Seven Star Praying Mantis Fist at Chi Ching Wushu Association in Manila's Chinatown. Frank was invited to teach in Chi Ching Wushu Association where he introduced Lau Family Hung Kuen. Later, he established the Lau Family Hung Boxing Association Philippines, where he aims to propagate the Lau Family style of Hung Kuen as well as teaching martial arts to underprivileged children for free. By the end of 2007, the school relocated in the Kong Han Athletic Club (a well known club in Manila Chinatown which was founded in 1937) with the support of Sifu Henry Lo.
