Grandmaster Lau Kar Leung was born 1936 in Canton. His kungfu training started when he was 7 and learned from his father, Lau Jaam. When Lau Kar Leung turned 12, he moved to Hongkong. and got into the movie scene working as a stunt man in old Wong Fei Hong movies and other cantonese file productions. |

Later, he became an action director at Shaw Brothers productions. During this time, he started to use Hung Kuen in the fight choreographie. It was then when he was given the chance to make his own movies giving him the freedom of creativity that launched him to success. Soon, his movies became very famous and inspired many to pick up kungfu. In the mid 80s, the Shaw Brothers stopped producing movies. However, Lau Sigung kept making movies. At this tme, he took on Mark Houghton as his student and taught him all his kungfu. |
